New York Jets Undecided On The Future Of Young Tackle
The New York Jets started 2022 strong, but unfortunately, the injuries sustained to their offensive line became too much to handle, and now as they look forward to 2023, they know it's a position they have to solidify if they want to find success.
With the return of Alijah Vera-Tucker and a likely addition in free agency or the draft, the team are likely to improve, but there's one wild card for this squad; Mekhi Becton, the third year tackle who missed the entire 2022 season due to injury.
When healthy, he's been one of the most promising young tackles in the NFL, but he has struggled in that area in a big way, and it's led to GM Joe Douglas not deciding yet on his future as a part of Gang Green, but if he can ball out in 2023, the team will be looking to bring him back in a big way.#Jets GM Joe Douglas said the Jets haven’t made a decision yet on picking p Mekhi Becton’s fifth-year option.

As far as him being a starter: Says everyone saw how dominant he can be when healthy.
“Mekhi is in as good of a place now as I’ve seen him in a long time”
