New York Giants Hope to Re-Sign Wide Receiver Slayton
The New York Giants intend to hold onto one of their veteran pass catchers. According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the Giants will attempt to re-sign free agent wide receiver Darius Slayton.
Slayton has been a solid if unspectacular wide receiver since entering the league as the Giants' 171st pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He has totalled between 724 and 751 receiving yards in three of his four seasons. To his credit, he managed a career-best 10.2 yards per target in 2022. He offers exceptional speed (4.39 40-yard dash), quickness (4.15 shuttle), and explosiveness (40.5 vertical leap). The #Giants are expected to shop near the top of the market at … inside linebacker! TJ Edwards a name to monitor closely.

Also, perhaps supplementing the receiving corps with a … TE?!?! Maybe Irv Smith Jr.
Thoughts on the Giants in free agency: https://t.co/uAIXfNd3uJ
Slayton may be one of the best options in a thin crop of wide receivers this free agency, so retaining his services will likely require a surprisingly large investment from the Giants. He could land a deal north of Allen Robinson's three-year, $46.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams. He may even flirt with Christian Kirk's four-year, $72 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
