New York Giants Franchise Tag Superstar Running Back

Tuesday March 7th was an absolutely chaotic day for news in the NFL, but perhaps the most surprising of all was the deal struck between the New York Giants and young Quarterback Daniel Jones, as he will now remain with the team for four more seasons, but where does that leave their biggest and best offensive weapon?

Unsurprisingly, and much to his disdain, the Giants have now officially placed the franchise tag on Saquon Barkley, which is reportedly a major disappointment for him, as he was looking to sign a long-term deal this off-season, whether it be in New York or elsewhere.

After a massive bounce back season in 2022, Barkley carried the load of the Giants offence on his back, and if they can get some weapons around he and Jones in 2023, this is no doubt a team that has the potential to make a solid playoff run.
