New York Giants Could Still Franchise Tag Star Running Back
After a fantastic 2022 season that saw the New York Giants make it all the way to the divisional round, and now if they want to remain contenders in an incredibly tough NFC East division, they need to nail this off-season in every way.
That focus will mainly be on Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, and while they're in danger of losing one of them this off-season, it's now been reported that if they can lock down Jones on a long-term deal before free agency begins, they'll also franchise tag the star running back.
For running backs at this stage of their career, a long-term deal is absolutely ideal, so Barkley will be looking beyond the franchise tag, but if they can bring them both back and add some weapons on the outside, this could be a Super Bowl contender.Report: The #Giants will franchise tag RB Saquon Barkley if they can reach a long-term deal with QB Daniel Jones before the deadline, according to @RapSheet
