New Orleans Saints Sign Young Tight End To Two-Year Deal
The New Orleans Saints made the massive addition of Derek Carr to their talented offence already this off-season, and with a very winnable NFC South ahead of them, it's clear that they're not looking at a rebuild anytime soon like some have suggested.
On Saturday, they got a big boost for their future as well, as young tight end Juwan Johnson agreed to a new two-year deal that will pay him $12M over the next two seasons, a solid deal for a player with untapped potential.
The 26-year old had his best season as a pro in 2022, as he hauled in 42 catches for 508 yards and 7 Touchdowns, and with the experienced Carr now pencilled in as the new starting QB, Johnson could see that production rise once more.#Saints TE Juwan Johnson’s new two-year deal is worth $12 million, including $8.5M fully guaranteed, per source.

Johnson would’ve been an RFA, so in essence, this is a one-year, $9.373 million extension on top of the low tender. Max value $14.5M over two years with escalator. pic.twitter.com/NqLmoIMYqc
