New Orleans Saints Rework Contracts Of Two Star Players
The New Orleans Saints were uncharacteristically poor in 2022, falling to third place in the NFC South, and now, if they are to turn it around in 2023, they'll need to make plenty of moves this upcoming off-season.
That off-season has started well, as they've now officially reworked the contracts of both Demario Davis and Taysom Hill, saving $12.75M against the salary cap for 2023, which could allow them to bring in another big name to help them turn it around.
It may take more than one off-season to turn the Saints into the NFC juggernaut we've seen over the past decade, but this move will certainly help, and if they can nail the draft and free agency, there's no reason why they can't compete in the struggling NFC South. The Saints have restructured the contracts of LB Demario Davis and TE Taysom Hill by converting base salary into a signing bonus, creating $12.724M in 2023 cap space, per source.
