Negotiations Between New York Giants And Star QB Will 'Go Down To The Wire'
The New York Giants have spent the early part of the off-season negotiating with their star Quarterback Daniel Jones, and after some wild numbers have been thrown out in recent weeks, no extension appears to be imminent.
With the deadline to place the franchise tag him at 4pm ET today, the team will need to get a deal done by then, and according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the negotiations are expected to go all the way to the wire before a decision is made.
Reportedly, Jones was originally seeking over $45M per season on a new deal, while the Giants have countered with a $35-39M per year offer, and while it's impossible to know what's going into these negotiations right now, we will have a resolution by 4pm ET today one way or another.Contract talks between the Giants and QB Daniel Jones are, in the words of one source, “going right down to the wire.”
