Minnesota Vikings Officially Releasing Longtime WR
After much speculation, the Minnesota Vikings are officially releasing Adam Thielen, according to NFL insider Kevin Seifert.
I'm told the Vikings will release WR Adam Thielen this morning, marking the end of an era for a Minnesota icon. Thielen had a $19.97mm cap hit for 2023 and, given the thin WR FA market, had no incentive to take a big pay cut or reduced role.

The Vikings and Thielen were working on restructuring his deal, but an agreement could not be agreed upon. As a result, the longtime Viking officially is set to become a free agent, and he should receive a good amount of interest around the league because of it.
Although Thielen's numbers dropped a bit in 2022, he still proved to be an effective receiver. In 17 games, he had six touchdowns, 716 receiving yards, and 70 receptions. As a result of this, he is easily now one of the top wide receiver free agents available. With that, it also does not hurt that he is a two-time Pro Bowler. Therefore, expect the Minnesota native to find a new home fairly quickly once free agency officially begins.
