Kansas City Chiefs Restructure Star Quarterback's Contract
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their second Super Bowl win of the Patrick Mahomes/Andy Reid era, and while they haven't made too many blockbuster moves this off-season, the feeling around the league is that one could be right around the corner.
On Thursday, they made a big move that will help that become a reality, as they restructured the contract of Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, essentially saving themselves $9.6 million in 2023, which could be used for a big purpose.
Given the state of QB contracts now, Mahomes' long-term contract looks like an absolute bargain, and if the team can add more weapons with that extra money, he could be well on his way to a third regular season MVP and Super Bowl victory. The Chiefs have restructured Patrick Mahomes’s contract to clear some cap space https://t.co/4vCOLFBzd9
