Kansas City Chiefs Re-Sign Veteran Tight End

Veteran tight end Blake Bell has agreed to a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs for his fourth season with the team.

Bell is expected to continue serving as a backup option behind star tight end Travis Kelce, sharing playing time with Jody Fortson and Noah Gray.

Throughout his eight seasons in the league, Bell has caught a total of 60 passes for 641 yards and scored one touchdown, which he achieved in the Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos in the previous season.

In the 2022 season, he appeared in three games and recorded two catches for 20 yards and a touchdown.

Given the departure of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman at wide receiver during the offseason, Bell may be asked to take on a more prominent role next season.

Nonetheless, he will likely continue to serve as a reliable backup and provide depth for the Chiefs' offense. Photo Credit: Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports
