Kansas City Chiefs Negotiating New Contract With Star Left Tackle
The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to hold onto a cornerstone of their 2022 Super Bowl champion squad. Speaking at the combine this week, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach communicated his team's intention to sign left tackle Orlando Brown to a long-term deal.

Brown is a four-time Pro Bowler and was a huge part of a dominant offensive line performance in Super Bowl LVII. The Chiefs kept a hobbled Patrick Mahomes clean against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that compiled 70 sacks in the regular season. They also paved the way for 158 rushing yards at an ultra-efficient 6.07 yards per carry.
Brown reportedly turned down a six-year, $144 million last offseason that would have made him the league's highest-paid offensive lineman in annual average. He has only increased his value and leverage. He seems all but certain to land a second consecutive franchise tag, barring a gigantic offer from the Chiefs.
