Detroit Lions Land Superstar Safety
The Detroit Lions were one of the best stories in the NFL this past season, and with their explosive offence, it appears it's only a matter of time until they can take the next step into the playoffs, but to make that happen, they need improvements on the defensive side of the ball.
On Sunday, they made a fantastic addition to that unit by signing C.J. Gardner-Johnson, the former Eagles safety coming off a career year to a one-year, $8 million deal, which is fantastic value for such a star.
In 2022, Gardner-Johnson racked up a sack, 6 interceptions and 8 passes defended, so adding him on a one-year, cheap deal to a talented unit could be a season defining move for a team that is clearly on the rise. The #Lions are signing safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to a one-year, $8 million deal with $6.5M fully guaranteed signing, per sources.
