Denver Broncos Sign Running Back
The Denver Broncos have added another option to their running backs group. According to 9News's Mike Klis, the team has signed former Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints running back Tony Jones Jr.
Jones initially entered the league with new Broncos head coach Sean Payton's Saints in 2020, so it's a reunion of sorts. He has served primarily as a backup to this point in his career, compiling 67 carries for 179 yards over 18 appearances with the Saints and Seahawks. He'll be 26 years old later this year.Former Saints RB Tony Jones Jr. was married yesterday. Today, he is signing one-year deal with Broncos per source. #9sports

At 5'11" and 224 lbs, Jones is a powerful, somewhat plodding back who could get some early down work with the Broncos. He won't be guaranteed a roster spot; he'll likely have to prove his value in preseason and training camp. To have any chance at sticking, he'll need to drastically improve his career average of 2.7 yards per carry.
