Denver Broncos Re-Sign Cornerback
The Denver Broncos have re-signed Essang Bassey to a one-year contract for the 2023 season.
Bassey appeared in a career-high 14 games last season for the Broncos, where he recorded 15 combined tackles. Overall, he worked well in a depth role for the Broncos, so it ultimately makes sense that they have decided to bring him back. Yet, for this upcoming season, he will be aiming to take that next step and become a starter for them.
Bassey has three years of NFL experience on his resume, where he has spent time with the Los Angeles Chargers and Broncos. Over that span, he has recorded an interception to go along with 39 combined tackles in 28 games. Now, we will need to wait and see how well he improves upon these stats this upcoming season with the Broncos from here.
At the end of the day, this signing offers very little risk for the Broncos, so it is hard to find much to complain about with it.
