Dallas Cowboys Restructure Superstar Defensive End's Contract
The Dallas Cowboys have seemingly been right on the verge of a deep playoff run for a number of years now, but yet again in 2022, they struggled to win the big games down the stretch that could see them make a Super Bowl push.
In order to do that, they need the room to make some big moves, and after restructuring the contracts of Dak Prescott and Zach Martin last week, they've now followed that up by doing the same for superstar defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence.
The move will open up almost $9 million in salary cap space for the 2023 season, and if they can use that to continue filling out this very talented roster, it could finally be the year that they build momentum at the right end of the year. The Cowboys have restructured the contract of DE DeMarcus Lawrence, opening up $8.89 million in room, per sources. He is the fourth player they have restructured in the last two weeks Dak Prescott, Zack Martin and Michael Gallup, freeing up nearly $45 million in cap space.
