Cleveland Browns Sign Former Texans Edge Rusher

The Cleveland Browns have signed former Houston Texans pass-rusher Ogbonnia Okoronkwo to a three-year contract worth a base value of $19 million and a maximum value of $22 million, with $12.5 million guaranteed.

Okoronkwo, a fifth-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, had a career year in 2022 with the Texans, recording five sacks, 44 combined tackles, 32 solo tackles, nine tackles for loss, 11 QB hits, and a forced fumble in 17 games, including eight starts.

With the Browns, Okoronkwo is expected to fill a rotational role alongside All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett, and his snap count could potentially rise up to 600-700.

Over his four-year career, the 27-year-old has recorded 78 total tackles, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and three passes defended across 50 games played.

It's a nice get for the Browns, who also signed defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson on Monday.
