Cleveland Browns Sign Former Bears Linebacker

The Cleveland Browns have been busy during the NFL free agency period, making several additions to their roster.

On Tuesday, the Cleveland Browns announced the signing of linebacker Matthew Adams, who was previously with the Chicago Bears.

Adams, a seventh-round pick in 2018, began his career with the Indianapolis Colts where he worked with current Browns special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone.

Last season, Adams played in 10 games for the Bears, starting three and logging 188 defensive snaps. He recorded 26 tackles during the year, with the majority of his production coming in the final seven weeks of the season.

With the Browns, Adams is expected to provide depth to the front seven and contribute as a special teamer. Currently, the Browns' starting linebackers are Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Jacob Phillips, and Sione Takitaki.

However, the Browns are not finished yet and are reportedly still looking to upgrade their wide receiver position. Photo Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports
