Cincinnati Bengals Re-Sign Linebacker & Cornerback
The Cincinnati Bengals have made some early moves ahead of the upcoming NFL free agency period by re-signing linebacker Joe Bachie and cornerback Jalen Davis.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed that the Bengals have signed Bachie to an undisclosed one-year deal, while Davis receives an undisclosed two-year deal.
The #Bengals are signing a few of their own, reaching deals with LB Joe Bachie and CB Jalen Davis, sources say. Bachie gets a 1-year deal rather than an RFA tender and Davis gets a 2-year deal. Cincy builds depth and continuity.

Bachie, who was a restricted free agent, played in 10 games for the Bengals last season and recorded 10 tackles. He provides solid depth at linebacker, especially with Germaine Pratt also set to become a free agent.
Meanwhile, Davis played in 13 games for the Bengals last season and serves as a backup to Mike Hilton at nickel cornerback. With a lack of depth at the position, the Bengals will hope Davis can continue to be an important piece on defense.
While neither signing is very significant right now, the Bengals coaching staff sees them as important pieces for depth and special teams.
These moves will not prevent the Bengals from potentially adding more players to these positions in free agency or the draft, but they do provide some insurance going into the 2023 season.
