Carolina Panthers Zeroing in on Quarterback C.J. Stroud
The Carolina Panthers want a thorough look at their potential first-overall pick. Per SI's Albert Breer, the team is sending every meaningful figure in their front office and coaching staff to Ohio State's pro day in order to evaluate and interview quarterback C.J. Stroud.
The Panthers dramatically traded up with the Chicago Bears in order to acquire the 2023 NFL Draft's first overall pick, and Stroud has clearly emerged as the favorite to be the beneficiary. He has an ideal NFL frame (6'3", 214 lbs) and passed for an impressive 8123 yards, 85 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 25 appearances with the Buckeyes. He projects as a prototypical passer at the next level.Going to @OhioStateFB Pro Day from the @Panthers.

The Panthers declared their hope of starting their rookie quarterback as soon as possible earlier this week. Stroud's pro-ready body and accuracy as a passer give him the best chance of any quarterback in this draft to contribute right away. He should provide the Panthers with their most exciting quarterback since the days of Cam Newton.
