Browns Restructure Quarterback's Contract; Free Up Enormous Amount Of Cap Space

The Cleveland Browns and quarterback Deshaun Watson agreed Monday to restructure his contract.

With the move, the Browns restructure Watson's $46 million base salary to clear $36 million in cap space ahead of free agency.

This gives the Browns more room to make moves in free agency.

It was reported last week that Watson was willing to restructure his deal if it meant freeing up cap space in order to sign quality veterans in free agency.

As a result, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Browns add to the team's already skilled offense, currently led by Watson, Amari Cooper, David Njoku and Donovon Peoples-Jones.

In addition, the Browns are also reportedly in on free agent safety Jessie Bates, so that's a strong possibility now after restructuring Watson's deal.
