BREAKING: Minnesota Vikings Sign Top Free-Agent Cornerback

The Minnesota Vikings have signed cornerback Byron Murphy to a two-year contract worth approximately $22 million, according to sources.

Murphy was one of the top cornerbacks on the free agent market this offseason, and he will fill the void left by the departure of veteran Patrick Peterson.

Murphy spent the past four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, accumulating 229 total tackles, three sacks, nine tackles for loss, four QB hits, five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 34 passes defended, one forced fumble, and five fumble recoveries (one for a TD) in 56 games.

However, he played in only nine games in the 2022 season due to a back injury.

Despite his injury, Murphy is expected to return to full health in 2023 and be a valuable addition to the Vikings' defense.

His coverage grades may have declined in recent seasons, but he remains a talented and aggressive cornerback who can excel in the right defensive scheme.
