McKenzie had a $250k roster bonus due this weekend with $1.75m non-guaranteed base salary. Buffalo will now save around $2 million in cap space for the 2023-24 season, per Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic.
The writing may have been on the wall for McKenzie, who was former fifth-round pick by the Broncos back in 2017, with the Bills signing free-agent WR Deonte Harty earlier this week.
In 2022, McKenzie played in 15 games for his now former Buffalo club. He caught 42 passes for 423 yards and four touchdowns.
McKenzie should garner some looks from other teams with his ability to make plays, which was showcased with his years alongside quarterback Josh Allen.
