Goldman, a 2015 second-round draft pick by the Chicago Bears, had signed a one-year deal with the Falcons before announcing his retirement.
After sitting out the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns, Goldman returned to play for the Bears in 2021, but struggled to perform at his usual level, registering only 22 tackles and 0.5 sacks over 14 games.
However, with his reinstatement, the 29-year-old could be part of the Falcons' interior defensive line rotation for the upcoming season.
During his six seasons with the Bears, Goldman had shown himself to be a solid interior lineman, recording 174 tackles, 13 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one pass defended across 81 games.
