Atlanta Falcons Land Former Bengals Star Safety
The Atlanta Falcons have been very active on day one of free agency, and after a solid trade with New England and the re-signing of their star guard, the team has made perhaps the biggest splash of the day around the NFL.
It has now officially been confirmed that Atlanta have officially signed star safety Jessie Bates to a four-year deal that will pay him over $16 million per year, which will make him the fourth highest paid safety in NFL history.
In five years with the Bengals, Bates racked up 14 interceptions, 43 passes defended and 7.5 tackles for loss, and became a genuine leader for the Cincinnati defence, and now he will join a defence with A.J. Terrell as the Falcons look to chase the NFC South crown. It's a 4-year deal for$16.005M per year. Wow.
