Arizona Cardinals Sign Former Packers Linebacker
The Arizona Cardinals have bolstered their defense by signing free-agent linebacker Krys Barnes to a one-year contract.
Barnes previously played for the Green Bay Packers, where he recorded 190 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and four passes defended across 35 games over three seasons.
LB Krys Barnes signed with the #Cardinals after being informed earlier this month he would not be back with the #Packers. Barnes is one of QB Jordan Love's best friends. "We were real close. That's my guy. We've been close since elementary school," Love told me last November. pic.twitter.com/ZOqkxFegzG

However, his 2022 campaign was hampered by an ankle injury that limited him to just six games. Despite this, Barnes' addition to the Cardinals' roster is seen as a positive move, given the team's need for an off-ball linebacker.
He is expected to provide depth alongside players such as Zaven Collins, Isaiah Simmons, and Kyzir White.
Barnes is still just 24 years old as he enters his fourth season.
By not offering Barnes a qualifying offer or tender as a restricted free agent this offseason, the Packers made him free to sign with any team.
