Washington Commanders Head Coach Reveals Likely QB1 For 2023
The Washington Commanders had one of the most interesting 2022 seasons, as they won plenty of games despite poor play at the Quarterback position, but ultimately, this combined with the fact that they played in the toughest division in the NFL caught up to them, as they failed once again to make the playoffs.
They believe however that chasing an Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr isn't necessary, as their QB1 is already on the roster, with Head Coach Ron Rivera revealing that Sam Howell, a fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft will likely enter training camp as the starter.
He started the teams final game of the 2022 season, a solid performance in his NFL debut, but he's reportedly shown enough in practice throughout his rookie year for the veteran Head Coach to enter 2023 with him as the starter, and if he develops, this could be a dark horse in the NFC next season.News: #Commanders say that Sam Howell is “more than likely” QB1 heading into the 2023 season, according to coach Ron Rivera. pic.twitter.com/qC9dXC8MZp
