San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Won't Return In 2023
The San Francisco 49ers came ever so close to getting back to the Super Bowl, but with all their bad luck when it comes to the Quarterback position, they just couldn't overcome the dominant Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.
With Brock Purdy and Trey Lance as the future of the organization at Quarterback, it appears that veteran Jimmy Garoppolo won't be back in 2023, as Head Coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed he would leave when he hits free agency this off-season.
While he showed that he could play his role as a game manager well in San Francisco, even getting them to the Super Bowl, but unfortunately, he wasn't able to lead them beyond that, and now, with Las Vegas, New York and Tampa Bay looking for veteran help at QB, he'll have plenty of suitors.#49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said today that Jimmy Garoppolo won’t be back next season and he will leave San Francisco when he becomes a free agent this offseason: pic.twitter.com/xLIS2SSLvE
