Re-Signing Safety A Top Priority For Philadelphia Eagles This Off-Season
The Philadelphia Eagles lived up too, and even exceeded expectations in 2022, and while they fell just short of capturing their second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history, as well as losing both of their coordinators to Head Coach roles, there's still plenty of optimism around the organization going forward.
Unfortunately for Philly, they have some key players expected to hit free agency in a matter of weeks, and if they are to replicate the success of 2022, they'll need some of them back, with safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, a pre-season acquisition a year ago seen as a top priority for the Eagles.
There will certainly be plenty of attention for him around the league, so bringing him back won't happen without a fight, but given his impact on this defence (1 sack and 6 interceptions in 2022), they desperately want him to return.#Eagles view re-signing Safety C.J. But Gardner-Johnson might be looking to become one of the highest-paid Safeties in the NFL, which would be hard for the Eagles to do. pic.twitter.com/TrM0BHEDiM
