Pittsburgh Steelers Veteran Coach Announces Retirement
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the most storied franchises in the entire NFL, and as such, they've seen some of the greatest players and coaches in NFL history, and yesterday, one of their longest serving coaches officially announced his retirement.
John Mitchell has been with the Steelers since way back in 1994, working as the defensive line coach for 12 years before moving on to the Assistant Head Coach role, and now, after 29 years with the team, he's retiring as one of the best assistants to come through the NFL.
The 71-year old has seen plenty of success with this Steelers franchise, and with them moving in a new direction, they'll likely look to get young to go with this team, but after 29 years with Pittsburgh and a further 21 years of coaching, he's going to get his well deserved flowers on his way to retirement.Steelers’ assistant head coach John Mitchell has announced his retirement after 29 seasons.
