NFL Will Have Flex Scheduling For Monday Night Football Games From 2023
One of the biggest problems the NFL has faced in recent years is prime time games, especially Monday Night Football having little meaning throughout the season, and while the league maintained flexibility to change their Sunday schedule, that same luxury hasn't been linked to Monday games.
That will reportedly change in 2023 according to the Commissioner Roger Goodell, and while Thursday Night Football won't have that same flexibility this upcoming season, it's something that the league will monitor for the future.
Given the unpredictability of the NFL, it's tough to make a perfect schedule with all prime time games being fantastic, but now, the NFL have adapted and will give themselves flexibility which will no doubt increase the consistent viewership and excitement about Monday Night Football going forward. The 2023 season will be the first year of flex scheduling for Monday Night Football, and Roger Goodell says it wouldn’t surprise him if at some point Thursday games can be flexed, too: “Not today, but it’ll certainly be something that’s on our horizon.”
