NFL Rumors: Seahawks Looking At Contract Extension For Veteran WR
An extension could very well get done.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett could have his contract extended this offseason to free up cap space.
Lockett is due $9.7 million with $16.7 million guaranteed in 2023. However, Seattle wants to lower Lockett's cap number and could create around $8.6 million in cap space if they negotiate a new deal this offseason.

Lockett is currently signed through 2025 on his contract right now.
With the money the team saves on Lockett, they could use it towards negotiating a contract extension with free agent quarterback Geno Smith.
The thirty-year-old Lockett recorded 84 receptions for 1,033 yards and nine touchdowns over 16 games this season. It was the fourth straight year he surpassed the 1,000-yard mark.
