NFL Rumors: New York Giants Expected To Franchise Tag Quarterback
The off-season has barely begun for the New York Giants, but they've already been faced with several major decisions, one of which being the contract situation of starting Quarterback Daniel Jones, which could define the franchise for years to come.
Reportedly, Jones is seeking upwards of $45 million per year on his next contract, and at this point, the Giants may not be willing to pay that for one year of elite productivity, so at this point, it appears they are expected to place the franchise tag on him.
If Jones can play well on the tag, it's likely the Giants would be more comfortable paying him a massive extension, but for now, he's just not proven enough, and understandably, the Giants are hesitant to give him one of the biggest contracts in NFL history for a Quarterback.
