New York Jets Hire Former Titans Offensive Coordinator
The New York Jets made the shocking decision to hire Nathaniel Hackett as their next Offensive Coordinator, but with links to Aaron Rodgers and former success, it makes sense, but today, they followed it up with another puzzling hire on the offensive staff.
Today, the team officially hired Todd Downing, the former Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator as their passing game coordinator, and it's tough not to notice that he has ties to Derek Carr, another of the top tier Quarterbacks that will be available this off-season.
Given his experience at the NFL level, this could likely turn out to be a good hire, but it's hard not to see a disaster coming with two coaches that come with plenty of baggage in recent times, but only time will tell how this turns out.Can confirm the #Jets hired Todd Downing as their passing game coordinator. Fills the veteran position Robert Saleh wanted. He also has ties to Derek Carr & Ryan Tannehill.
