New York Jets Center Likely Not Returning In 2023
The New York Jets took massive strides in 2022, but if they want to do that again and become a playoff squad, they'll need to have a perfect off-season, and to do that, it appears they'll need to improve their offensive line in a big way.
Both Mekhi Becton and Alijah Vera-Tucker are both to return from injury, and today, it was confirmed that veteran centre Connor McGovern won't be back either as he heads to free agency, claiming that his end of season meetings 'did not include talks of an extension'.
In three years with New York, McGovern played his role consistently, but not to the elite level that the Jets need out of their centre, and with so many veterans and potential young rookies out there, they'll need to find their man if they are to be playoff bound.Sounds like #Jets may be making a move at center in 2023.

Connor McGovern is heading towards free agency & he told @Connor_J_Hughes that his exit meetings w/ #TakeFlight "did not include discussions of an extension" + "probably not long for Florham Park"
