New Houston Texans Head Coach Named Assistant Coach Of The Year In 2022
The NFL Honours night is set to begin any moment now, but before the night begins, the NFL have officially announced the AP Assistant Coach of the Year award for 2022, and there's absolutely no surprise in this one.
The award was given to new Houston Texans Head Coach DeMeco Ryans, who served as the Defensive Coordinator in San Francisco, leading one of, if not the best defences in the entire NFL all season long, with the potential Defensive Player of the Year in Nick Bosa.
They allowed just 16.3 points per game and 33 Touchdowns, and while they weren't able to get it done in the playoffs, the defence was outstanding all year long, and eventually, Ryans ended up edging Lions Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson for this award 15-11 votes.New #Texans coach DeMeco Ryans has won the AP NFL Assistant Coach of the Year honors for his excellence as the #49ers Defensive Coordinator in 2022. pic.twitter.com/kF2yciHbvp
