Kansas City Chiefs To Decline 5th Year Option On Running Back
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off yet another incredible year, one in which they captured their second Super Bowl in the Patrick Mahomes era, and while there's plenty of stories coming out of that, one of the most intriguing was the breakout season of running back Isaiah Pacheco.
With veteran Jerick McKinnon to back him up, it's left some wondering where Clyde Edwards-Helaire stands, as he was a healthy scratch for Super Bowl LVII, and now it's been revealed that the Chiefs are likely to decline his fifth year option next off-season.
He had himself a breakout rookie campaign as well, but his career has gone downhill since that point, and while there's no doubt a place for him in the NFL, this is an understandable move from Kansas City, who want production as they look for more Super Bowl success.
