Kansas City Chiefs Expected To Franchise Tag Tackle This Off-Season
While all the talk heading into Super Bowl LVII regarding offensive line play was centred on the star group in Philadelphia, it was the Kansas City Chiefs line that stood up, allowing Patrick Mahomes to be sacked exactly 0 times en route to his second Super Bowl MVP award.
One of the keys to that offensive line is left tackle Orlando Brown, who played the 2022 season on the franchise tag, and this off-season, it's widely expected for the team to tag him again, and while that prevents him from getting a long-term deal, he's in a place that will lead to plenty of success.
The 26-year old has been in the NFL with Baltimore and Kansas City since 2018, with four Pro Bowl appearances to his name, so it's safe to say that he's been a big part of the Chiefs success in 2022, and both parties would like that to continue. The "expectation leaguewide" is that the #Chiefs will franchise-tag Left Tackle Orlando Brown for a second consecutive year, according to ESPN.
