Indianapolis Colts to Announce Philadelphia Eagles OC Shane Steichen as New Head Coach
The Indianapolis Colts' extended search for their new leader is at an end. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen is travelling to Indianapolis to finalize a deal that will make him the Colts' next head coach.

Steichen wrapped up his duties as the Eagles' offensive coordinator in last night's thrilling 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. In his second year with the organization, he led the Eagles to top-five finishes in points scored, yards gained, and rushing yards. He also oversaw the emergence of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts as an MVP candidate and was Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert's offensive coordinator in the Pro Bowl passer's rookie season.
A young offensive-minded coach with a track record of developing quarterbacks, Steichen is precisely the sort of coach that's presently in vogue around the NFL. He'll have a tall task ahead of him if he's going to restore the Colts to relevance: they ranked 30th in points scored in 2022 and lack a viable starter at quarterback on their roster. Finding a franchise passer in free agency or the draft will be the team's next priority.
