Houston Texans To Interview Cardinals Coach For DC Role
The Houston Texans appear to be getting everything going in the right direction this off-season, as the move to hire DeMeco Ryans as their next Head Coach was seen as the best move in the hiring cycle thus far, but before we hit free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft, they'll need some Coordinators.
This week, they'll look to a former Dolphins Defensive Coordinator to fill the same role on their staff, in the form of current Cardinals Defensive Line Coach Matt Burke.
The 46-year old has been a coach in the NFL since back in 2004, and although he hasn't managed to have consistent success as a DC, pairing him under one of the leagues best Defensive Coordinators from 2022 in Ryans could be a way to bring this defence alive, and he'd certainly be a solid choice. The #Texans will interview Matt Burke for their defensive coordinator job this week, source says. Burke, a DC with the #Dolphins in 2017-18, is currently the #AZCardinals’ DL coach.
