Green Bay Packers Restructure Star Cornerback's Contract
The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for likely their most important off-season in recent memory, with the potentially landscape changing move of trading away Aaron Rodgers, and to make extra moves, they're looking to clear major cap space.
The first move to do that happened on Saturday, as the team officially worked with All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander, clearing them over $9M in cap space for the upcoming off-season, which could be the major difference between them making a splash move or not.
Alexander was fantastic again in 2022, earning his second Pro Bowl nomination, and at 26-years of age, this is a fantastic, team friendly move that will help them compete in the NFC North once again in 2023, so now all eyes turn to Aaron Rodgers. The #Packers restructured the contracts of stars Jaire Alexander and Preston Smith, source says, creating $9.456M and $6.668M in cap space. … The #Jaguars did the same for LB Foye Oluokun, creating $10.336M.
