Giants Bring Back Tight End
The New York Giants announced on Monday that they have re-signed tight end Lawrence Cager to a future contract. He was set to become an exclusive rights free agent before the New York club inked him to a long term deal.
Cager, who was a midseason addition after he was released from the Jets, played in six games for the Giants with three starts. The 25-year-old caught 13 passes for 118 years, and a touchdown in his 2022-23 campaign.
In his postseason stint for New York, he also recorded two catches for 20 yards.
Cager, undrafted from Georgia in 2020, played in two separate stints with the Jets and one with the Browns in 2021. He signed with the Giants practice squad in early 2022, and will now stay with them on their active roster next season.
