Detroit Lions Release Veteran Defensive Lineman
The Detroit Lions had a breakout season in 2022 on the back of an incredible offensive showing, and while the defence started out slow, by the end of the season, they showed why this is a team to be reckoned with in the next few seasons.
With visions of success in the near future, the Lions had to clear some cap space ahead of the free agency this off-season, and on Friday, they made their first move towards that, as they've come to the release of veteran Defensive Lineman Michael Brockers, saving themselves $10 million in cap space.
Brockers played in just three games in 2022, his second year with Detroit, and while he was no doubt a good locker room presence, this is a team that's getting younger and faster, so this is a move that makes sense as they look to add to an already talented roster ahead of 2023.The #Lions are releasing veteran Defensive Lineman Michael Brockers, per @davebirkett
