Denver Broncos Hire Former Cardinals DB As Special Teams Assistant
The Denver Broncos have a massive hill to climb if they are to pull themselves out of the hole they built in 2022, and to do so, the first step is building a competent coaching staff, and thus far, it appears they're on the right track.
With Sean Payton, Joe Lombardi and Vance Joseph leading the way, there's renewed optimism in Denver, and now, it looks like the team have officially hired Chris Banjo, who played defensive back and special teams for the Arizona Cardinals in 2022 as a Special Teams Assistant.
This is the second person the Broncos have hired to their coaching staff this off-season that was active just a few months ago, following Davis Webb as their new QBs coach, so while it may be a risk, it's one that could certainly pay off.Chris Banjo, just waived as DB by Arizona, in line to become Broncos' asst' special teams coach per source. Banjo a special teams standout for Sean Payton w/Saints (2017-18). 10-yr player, ready for immediate transition from player to coach. (See also Davis Webb). #9sports
