Dallas Cowboys Plan To Extend Star Quarterback
The Dallas Cowboys seemingly can't get over the hump in recent years, as they've had fantastic regular seasons followed up by poor showings in the post-season, and as of late, it's left some calling for a big change at the Quarterback position.
There's even been rumblings that they could target C.J. Stroud out of Ohio State in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, but today, those reports have somewhat been shut down, as the Cowboys are officially planning to extend Dak Prescott, whether that be in the coming weeks or next summer.
Given the Quarterback market over the past 12 months, it's hard to envision what that extension would look like right now, but an extension would certainly lower his cap number if done right, and would allow Dallas to make more moves, so it would be the best move for both parties.#Cowboys VP Stephen Jones confirmed that they plan to sign QB Dak Prescott to an extension. "We've got to have a plan to ultimately extend Dak" Jones said. An extension for Prescott will also lower his cap number over the next couple year's, freeing up Cap Space. ✭ pic.twitter.com/9KVR7lEJvj
