Cincinnati Bengals Star Safety 'As Good As Gone' This Off-Season
The Cincinnati Bengals had yet another fantastic run in 2022, with an improved defence along with their elite offence, and with another full off-season ahead of them, 2023 could finally be the year that this team takes the Super Bowl leap.
There will be some changes however, as star safety Jessie Bates is "as good as gone" from Cincinnati following a good 2022 season played on the franchise tag, and he's now expected to be one of the top names available on the free agent market.
Bates has spent his whole five year career in Cincinnati, but 2022 might have been his best year, as he racked up 71 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 4 interceptions and 8 passes defended, and with plenty of defences out there needing safety help, expect there to be a big push from several teams to bring him in.#Bengals Safety Jessie Bates is "as good as gone" from Cincinnati, writes @JayMorrisonATH

Bates is expected to hit free-agency after playing on the franchise tag in 2022.
