Carolina Panthers Name New Linebackers Coach
Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich has begun to put his staff together. The team has officially announced Peter Hansen as their new linebackers coach.
The Panthers name Peter Hansen their new linebackers coach. Hansen worked under new DC Ejiro Evero at Denver last season. He’s another sign this team is moving toward a 3-4 base.

Hansen most recently served as linebackers coach for the Denver Broncos in 2022 under new Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. The team finished seventh in yards allowed and 14th in points allowed.
Hansen has bounced around the NFL and college football ranks since 2008. He alternated jobs with Stanford and the San Francisco 49ers until 2019. In 2020, he earned a role as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach with the UNLV Rebels, where he remained through 2021.
At 43 years old, Hansen is a relatively young coach who has a chance to eventually flourish into a promising defensive coordinator. If he and Evero can carry over their success in Denver to the Panthers, Hansen's name could be tossed around for a promotion in the coming years.
