Buffalo Bills Hire Veteran As Senior Defensive Assistant
The Buffalo Bills once again were arguably the best team in the NFL throughout the regular season, but when it came to a big game in the playoffs, they just fell short, and are now left wondering what they can do to finally take that next step.
While it's likely to be a massive trade or a free agent signing that will help get them over the hump, a change in the coaching staff certainly couldn't hurt, and yesterday, the team confirmed that they have brought in veteran Al Holcomb as a senior defensive assistant.
The 52-year old has been coaching in the NFL since back in 2009, and worked with Head Coach Sean McDermott in Carolina, so while this may not be the move that helps them take the next step, it's a solid one that will no doubt help their defensive unit. The #Bills are hiring Al Holcomb as a senior defensive assistant, source says. Holcomb, who was the #Panthers’ interim defensive coordinator and assistant head coach under Steve Wilks, reunites with Sean McDermott, whom he worked alongside in Carolina.
