Washington Commanders Head Coach Won't Name Starting QB Yet For Week 18
The Washington Commanders have played musical chairs with their Quarterback situation all year long, with Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke both getting significant runs as the starter, but after being eliminated in Week 17, it's unknown who they'll go with in their regular season finale.
When asked about the situation today, Rivera wouldn't name a starter for the finale against the Dallas Cowboys, but he did say that the team was playing to win, which would indicate that rookie Sam Howell is likely not the option they'll go with.
At this point, it's becoming clear that neither Heinicke or Wentz are the Quarterback to lead them into the future, so while many would take a chance on Howell, Rivera is a veteran coach who wants to win, so we will find out later in the week the direction they end up going in.Ron Rivera would not name a starting QB for Sunday's game yet. Said the Commanders will play to win, which would seem to be a nod to one of the two vets.

This is simple. They are eliminated. Sam Howell should start against Dallas.
