Veteran Defensive Coach To Miami Dolphins Not Yet Official
Yesterday, news broke that veteran defensive coach and former Denver Broncos Head Coach Vic Fangio has become the new Defensive Coordinator for the Miami Dolphins, but since that point, sources close to Fangio have confirmed that nothing is official yet.
There is reportedly still plenty of interest from Frank Reich and Carolina, and with DeMeco Ryans likely to become the next Head Coach in Houston, the 49ers may have interest in Fangio, so at this point, it's becoming clear that it's not as much of a done deal as many expect. For what it's worth, Vic Fangio told me late last night, "Nothing has been decided on my end." There is a huge amount of mutual respect between Kyle Shanahan and Fangio, a highly successful Niners DC under Jim Harbaugh. And it appears the 49ers will have an opening soon.

Whichever team is lucky enough to land Fangio will certainly be getting a great veteran coach with plenty of knowledge and experience as both a DC and a Head Coach, and will certainly get a massive boost for 2023.
