Philadelphia Eagles To Pursue Veteran Coach If They Lose DC To A Head Coach Role
The Philadelphia Eagles are in the midst of what could end up being a run to the second Super Bowl win in franchise history, and as a result of their success, their Defensive Coordinator Jonathan Gannon has begun drawing plenty of interest as a Head Coach around the league, with the Houston Texans especially interested in his services.
While a lot can change between now and whenever the teams 2022/23 campaign ends, it appears that the Eagles are certainly planning to potentially lose their successful DC, and will target veteran Vic Fangio for the spot when this inevitably happens.
There's been rumours floating around that Fangio is connected to Super Bowl winning Head Coach Sean Payton, and has also been drawing interest from the Dolphins, so while there's a chance that Gannon stays put, the Eagles certainly have their backup plans in place.#Eagles are expected to make an "aggressive play" for long-time NFL defensive mastermind Vic Fangio in case they lose DC Jonathan Gannon to an head coaching position.
